PURPOSE: To excavate a trench in an arbitrary direction by pivoting a chassis and a milling drum so that only the chassis and milling drum are directed in excavating direction. ;CONSTITUTION: A chassis 1 and a milling drum 2 below it are pivoted around a vertical axial line 5. At the same time, flexible pipes 9 and 12 are pivoted along with the chassis. Here, an elbow 11 keeps the flexible pipes 12 parallel to each other. The milling drum 2 is oriented to the direction of trench which is to be excavated. Here, the position of a machine main body hanging the chassis 1 and milling drum 2 is not changed. The trench whose longitudinal direction is specified is excavated with the milling drum 2. Thus, changing of the orientation of the milling drum 2 is easily, and the trench is excavated in an arbitrary direction.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
