The pipeline system from the dry alarm valve (3) to the sprinklers is filled with compressed air. The alarm valve is held closed by pressure compensation on the air and extinguishing water side and opened when pressure drops on the air side. The pipeline system is rapidly ventilated by a pneumatic device and the dry alarm valve is rapidly opened by a separate pneumatic device. The quick opening for ventilating the pipeline system takes place before the rapid opening of the dry alarm valve. The rapid openings are undertaken by separate throttle stretches. This ensures that the throttling for the ventilation is greater than the throttling for opening the alarm valve. Diaphragm valves can be used to control the ventilation of the pipe system and the opening of the alarm valve.
