Method and system for holding a creativity session, a number of participants thinking up and recording solutions to a problem imposed, and each participant being provided with a client terminal. The client terminals are coupled, by way of a communications network, to one another and to a server. In the server, there is activated a program which makes it possible on the screens of the client terminals to display an annotation field in which the participants may enter alphanumeric or graphic information, the information entered being capable to being transmitted to the other client terminals and the server; in addition, in the server there is activated a program which makes it possible to show, as background to the annotation sheet, a virtual environment in which the participants are designated by symbols; and there being initiated a change in the virtual background at least once.
