摘要

The invention relates to a process exclusively relying on transglycolytic enzymes, for the synthesis of branched oligosaccharides. According to the described process, a donor saccharide is first incubated with an acceptor saccharide and with a suitable glycosidase. The resulting di- or oligosaccharide is then incubated with a second, different glycosidase and with a donor saccharide, to form a second glucosidic bond differing from the one formed in the first stage, thereby obtaining a branched oligosaccharide. The process is entirely and exclusively performed in water phase and allows to obtain, with high yield and specificity, branched oligosaccharides such as the trisaccharide Lewis-X.
