Apparatus and method for intensiv devolatilisation of PVC-suspension and dispersion

Appts. for intensive degassing of PVC dispersions consists of a polymerisation vessel (1), condenser (2) and vacuum unit (3). The novel features are that the vessel has a steam inlet (4) in the lower half and the vessel, condenser and vacuum unit are joined by a connector (5). Also claimed are the degassing process, in which unreacted vinyl chloride (VC) is removed with steam in this appts.; and the use of the equipment for degassing PVC dispersions. Pref. the condenser has an inert gas inlet (6) at the top.
