The present invention relates to a method for configuring a call path between PSTN subscribers housed in the same ALS of an ATM system. The present invention relates to a method for establishing a magnetic path through an ATM cell in a spaceless ATM switching system using a separate time switch device mounted in a PSTN interworking subsystem. In order to realize the connection method through the system, the VPI and VCI assignments necessary for the ATM switching system are created, the switch link and the routing tag are created, and the necessary information for creating the cell in the matching processor of the PSTN interworking subsystem is provided. It determines whether the incoming information is the same PSTN interworking subsystem from the incoming call. If it is a PSTN interworking subsystem, it can be connected as it is without using VPI, VCI, and switch link by using internal switch of time switch. In the case of a system, connection is only possible via the internal time switch. Therefore, the VPI, VCI, and routing tag are assigned to the matching processor of the PSTN interworking subsystem, and the channel number and VPI, VCI routing tag information of the time switch are notified to the same PSTN interworking subsystem of the ALS. The exchange is configured by the built-in time switch between the subscribers. If the ATM is accommodated in different PSTN interworking subsystems, the ATM switch is configured through the time switch and the switch in the ALS. It is possible to obtain the effect that the communication through the voice between the PSTN calling / called subscribers that are accommodated in the ALS.
