FIELD: biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: described are N-sulfonyl and N-sulfinylamino acid amides of formula I: R₁ wherein n is 0 or 1; C₁-C₁₂ is C₁-C₄ alkyl optionally substituted with alkoxy group, C₃-C₈ alkylsulfonyl, C₁-C₆ cycloalkyl or C₃-C₈- alkoxycarbonyl; C₂-C₁₂ cycloalkyl, C₁-C₁₂ alkenyl, NR₁₃R₁₄ halogenalkyl or R₁₃ and R₁₄ wherein C₁-C₆ are independently hydrogen or R₂ and R₃ alkyl or together are tatra- or pentamethylene; C₁-C₈ are independently hydrogen; C₁-C₈ alkyl C₁-C₄ alkyl which is substituted by hydroxyl, C₁-C₄ alkoxy group, mercapto group or C₃-C₈ alkylthio group; C₃-C₈ cycloalkyl or C₁-C₄ cycloalkyl-R₂ and R₃ alkyl, or wherein both groups R₄ together with carbon atom to which they attached form 3-8 membered carboxylic ring; C₁-C₆ is hydrogen or R₅ alkyl; C₁-C₆ is hydrogen; R₆ alkyl or phenyl; R₇ and R₈ is group G wherein C₁-C₆ are independently hydrogen, R₉, R₁₀ and R₁₁ alkyl is 0 or 1; and C₁-C₆ are independently hydrogen, C₁-C₆ alkyl, C₁-C₆ halogenalkyl, C₃-C₆ alkoxy group, C₃-C₆ alkenyloxy group, alkynyloxy group, halogen or nitro group. Compounds of formula I have biocidal spectrum of activity for controlling phytopethogenic microorganisms, more particularly fungi.
