A body (4) of a car stereo has a first substrate (40) and a detachable grille (2) has a second substrate (20). The second substrate (20) has an operating device (39), a display (36) and a control unit (33) where identification data are stored. The first substrate (40) has a grille attachment detecting means (49, 50), power supply means and a control unit (53) having identification data discriminating means which discriminates the identification data in the control unit (33) on the second substrate (20) of the grille (2).
