The invention relates to a device for removing wild weed growth on paths, squares, parks and similar facilities, which in particular have a covering of pebbles, sand, broken stones or the like. The device has a device carrier with at least one movable component, on which at least one tool is mounted, which is to be brought into contact with the ground. In order to achieve a great cleaning effect for the device with only minimal damage to the ground, it is envisaged that the tool has a shoe-like base part which, on its front edge facing in the direction of travel and on its side edges, has cutters, with which it penetrates the ground at least partly, and that the tool performs an oscillation movement which runs essentially transversely to the direction of travel. At the same time, the tool can be inclined downwards in the direction of travel. The base part is preferably of essentially plate-shaped design and the cutters are formed by downwardly bent edge regions of the base part.
