CONSTITUTION:A laser light L is applied to a citrus fruit M, the content of carotenoid in the rind of the citrus fruit M is detected from the spectral intensity of a Raman scattering light R obtained by the application, and the quality of the taste is determined on the basis of it. Thus, l00% inspection of the taste of the citrus fruits is enabled in a nondestructed state and in a short time.
