PURPOSE: To rapidly and efficiently cure steel products coated with a thermosetting resin in a small space by heating the coated steel products by an IR radiation heater having a peak at a wavelength below a specific numerical value and an IR radiation heater having a peak at wavelengths of a specific range. ;CONSTITUTION: The coated steel products 1 are constituted by coating the steel products 2 to form a coating film 3 thereon. Before the coating film 3 dries, the coated steel products 1 are moved to the right and are passed under the IR radiation heater 4 having the peak at ≤1μm wavelength and the IR radiation heater 5 having the peak at 2 to 20μm wavelengths so that the curing of the coating film 3 is accelerated by making combination use of the heaters 4, 5. The IR radiation heater 4 having the peak at ≤1μm wavelength mainly exhibits a heating effect. The IR radiation heater having the peak at 2 to 20μm wavelengths exhibits the heating effect and has the effect of accelerating the reaction by IR absorption as the absorption wavelengths of general high-polymer materials are distributed in 2 to 10μm.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
