PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately evaluate the performance of a neutralizing agent for neutralizing and removing gas even under high temp. condition by neutralizing gas with the neutralizing agent in a reaction vessel heated to a fixed temp., and sampling the waste gas after neutralization reaction by a fixed amount thereby detecting an essential element required to the performance evaluation of the neutralizing agent. ;SOLUTION: A prescribed amount of the neutralizing agent N is charged into a charging passage 61 and the reaction vessel 2 is heated by a mantle heater 3, then temp. is kept uniformly by an agitation means 7. A vacuum pump 58 is actuated and all of the reaction vessel 2, n introducing passage 51, discharging passage 54, each sampling pipe 41-44 and each sampling bag SB1-SB4 are deaerated. A prescribed amount of acidic gas G is introduced to the reaction vessel 2, then the acidic gas G is sample in the sampling bag SB1 through the sampling pipe 41, and its concn. is detected with a detecting pipe Da. Then after charging the neutralizing agent N into the reaction vessel 2 pressurizing a spuit 62, the waste gas X is sampled into each sampling bag SB1-SB4 and the concn. of residual acidic gas is detected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
