PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize a thickness of a thin metal strip in the plate width direction by uniformizing a feeding quantity of molten metal to a cooling roll in the same direction even if a thermal crown is generated in the cooling roll and the gap between a nozzle and the cooling roll becomes uniform in the length direction of a nozzle opening i.e., in the plate width direction of the thin metal strip in a casting equipment using a single roll method. ;SOLUTION: A thickness of a cast thin metal strip is uniformized in the plate width direction by distributing the opening width of a slit shaped nozzle opening 7 in such a manner that the center in the length direction of the opening is the maximum width Wc and the width is narrowed toward both ends in the length direction in accordance with the thermal crown of the cooling roll. The opening 7 is composed of plural openings, which may be totalized with respect to the opening width. Also, the nozzle opening of the nozzle 3 is formed in the above described manner. Thus, the influence of the thermal crown of the cooking roll is made harmless, and the thin metal strip having the distribution of a uniform thickness in the plate width direction is stably obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
