NOZZLE FOR CASTING RAPIDLY SOLIDIFIED THIN STRIP BY A SINGLE ROLL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive nozzle by which the productivity is improved and high dimensional precision of a slit and a thin strip excellent in the thickness precision are attained. ;SOLUTION: The slit is obtained between both ceramic plates by forming steps by grinding work to one side or both sides of two ceramic plates and superposing one ceramic plate on the other while arranging the steps inside. It is desirable to have an inclining part in the steps and form the inlet portion of the slit wider than the outlet portion of the slit, and further, it is desirable that the steps are composed of the inclining part and a parallel part following the inclining part and the inlet portion of the slit is formed at the end of the inclining part and the outlet portion of the slit is formed at the end of the parallel part. Thus, this nozzle can be manufactured by cutting out the ceramic original plate and the steps informed only by grinding work, and overlappying them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
