PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a phosphor pattern with strong adhesion with a dielectric layer in the bottom between barriers by sandblasting a back plate for a plasma display panel on which barriers are formed by baking to roughen the surface of the dielectric layer and the side surface of the barrier, and forming the phosphor pattern by a photo-lithography method. ;SOLUTION: A phosphor pattern is formed on a back plate for a plasma display panel in such a way that a phosphor pattern forming composition is applied to a barrier rib forming surface of a back plate 111, dried to form a photosensitive phosphor layer 114, the phosphor layer 114 is exposed and developed through a mask having a specified shape to form the phosphor pattern in the specified shape. The back plate for an AC type plasma display panel on which a barrier rib 113 is formed by baking is sandblasted to roughen a dielectric layer 115 and the barrier rib 113, and the phosphor pattern is formed by photo-lithography process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
