PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wide angle lens excellently corrected in chromatic aberra tion and distortion by forming a lens group having negative power as the whole and a lens group having positive power as the whole and satisfying a specific condition. ;SOLUTION: The wide angle lens is composed of the 1st lens group having the negative power as the whole, an aperture and the 2nd lens group having the positive power as the whole successively from the object side. The 1st lens group is composed of a 1st-1 lens group containing one positive lens and having the negative power as the whole and a 1st-2 lens group containing one negative lens and having the positive power as the whole. Conditional equations, 1.5D/f5.0 and -10.0f12/f11-2.8, are satisfied. Where, D represents the distance between the surface of the 1st lens group nearest to the image side and the surface of the 2nd lens group nearest to the object side, (f) represents the focal length of d-line in the whole system, (f11) represents the focal length of d-line in the 1st-1 lens group and f12 represents the focal length of d-line in the 1st-2 lens group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
