METHOD FOR TREATING FILTER MEDIUM SHEET OF WASTE HEPA FILTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reduce capacity and perform decontamination treatment by cutting a filter medium sheet made of glass fiber where the dust of a radioactive waste is captured into fine pieces, heating the fine pieces for evaporating an organic binder, turning them into slurry in a nitric acid solution, and discriminating the glass fiber with a filter into a bulk forming body. ;SOLUTION: Upper and lower lids are removed from a filter, a filter medium sheet made of glass fiber where a radioactive waste such as uranium is captured is removed, and the filter medium sheet is cut into fine pieces. Then, the fine pieces are crushed into pieces in a nitric acid solution for forming slurry and at the same time the glass fiber is decontaminated. Then, the glass fiber where the formation of slurry is started is filtered and is washed without using soap. Then, the glass fiber that is obtained by washing without using soap is filtered and is crushed into pieces in water, thus completely forming slurry. Then, the slurry is filtered and at the same time is formed to a bulk forming body with a specific shape.
