METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CALCULATING AREA OF TRIANGULAR POLYGON IN PICTURE GENERATION, AND INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make executable an anti-aliasing through the use of a comparatively simple algorithm by calculating the area of a triangular polygon in a pixel based on a minimum rectangular area containing the polygon. ;SOLUTION: Triangular polygon apex coordinates (P0x, P0y)-(P5X, P5y) are kept in input F/F circuits 11-24. An operation result on data from F/F circuits 11-24 by an operation control circuit 10 is outputted and kept by intermediate F/F circuits 30-34 with operation units 25-29. The F/F circuit 30 holds the result obtained by operating the area of a minimum rectangular area. An addition circuit 35 adds data from the F/F circuits 31-34 and a subtraction circuit 36 obtains a value obtained by subtracting the addition value from data that the F/F circuit 30 holds and it is kept in an operation result F/F circuit 37. Thus, the area of a triangular polygon is calculated by repeating a similar operation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
