PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material feed device for shape steel and a shape steel feed method using the feed device, capable of avoiding interference of a first clamping means with a stock-feeding second clamping means to feed stock without retracting the first clamping means for clamping the shape steel in the neighborhood of a machining position. ;SOLUTION: When the tail end of shape steel W is clamped by a material feeding clamper 41 and a carriage 25 is moved to feed the shape steel W to a shape steel working machine 3, the material feeding clamper 41 is turned by a turning mechanism to once clamp the shape steel to a position at which the material feeding clamper 41 does not interfere with a body vice 11, and then to feed it, if the material feeding clamper 41 interferes with the body vice 11.
