PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to improvement of the manufacturing quality by detecting the abnormality of the groove shape by noncontact inspection requiring no abnormality detecting sensor to be brought into mechanical-contact with a groove of a grooved spacer, automatically judging whether the groove shape is in the allowable error or not, and storing the data.;SOLUTION: An encoder 3 is provided for picking up an image of a grooved spacer 1 by a plurality of CCD cameras 5 arranged at equal angles on a concentric circle taking the grooved spacer 1 as the center and for detecting the moving distance. A signal of the encoder 3 is input into a computing device 8, the image data picked up by a plurality of CCD cameras 5 are input into an image take-in device 7 while correcting the image pickup timing, a signal obtained by binarizing the brightness of the image data is input into the computing device 8, a tracer 11 is extracted from the input image, and a groove pitch and the reversing angle obtained from image loci in the equal angle positions are compared with a manufacturing design value stored in the computing device 8 to judge the acceptability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
