PURPOSE:To reduce the stored quantity of unregistered data in a center computer so as to reduce the investment in equipment of the center computer, and simultaneously, to obtain a registering medium capable of being used semipermanently by making an IC card compatible with an electronic pocketbook on the market the registering medium in respect of an ATM. CONSTITUTION:The IC card 41 is made compatible with the electronic pocketbook, and is provided with a ROM to store a registration program and a RAM to store registered data. A user carries the IC card 41 in which bankbook storage application software for an electronic bankbook is incorporated instead of a traditional bankbook. In the case of the execution of registration and transaction, the IC card 41 is inserted into the registration socket of the ATM, and the registration or the transaction of operation guidance displayed by a guidance operating part is designated. The ATM reads account information from the IC card 41, and accesses a center file 78. The registered data from the center file 78 is written in the RAM of the IC card 41 through the ATM. The registered data is displayed on the operating part of the ATM in the order of the transaction.
