In a suspension of floated sludges containing 50 to 200 grams of solid particles per 1000 cubic centimeter there is dosed flotation agent consisting of a collecting component formed by a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons boiling at a temperature ranging from 180 to 360 degC and a frothing component formed by a mixture of aliphatic alcohols containing 2 to 8 carbon atoms in the hydrocarbon radical, in weight ratio of both the components ranging from 1 : 1 to 4 : 1 and in total amount in the range of 300 to 800 grams per one ton of a floated solid phase, whereupon this suspension is then subjected to flotation for a period of 3 to 10 minutes.
