METHOD OF PREVENTING YOUNG CATTLE TUBERCULOSIS

This invention relates to veterinary medecine and can be used to prevent tuberculosis, a contagious disease common to humans and animals. The method of preventing tuberculosis in young cattle includes the step of making intramuscular injections of a preventive formulation and of an immunomodulator. The preventive formulation is tuberculin (PPD tuberculin) and the immunomodulator is a formulation containing (in weight percent) 0.07-0.1 of formaldehyde and 0.9-0.95 of sodium chloride, the rest being composed of distilled water. First, tuberculin is injected in one time to young cattle of colostrum age, each dosage comprising 3-4 ml per head of cattle, and 30-40 minutes later the immunomodulator is injected, each dosage comprising 4-6 ml per head. The proposed method of preventing tuberculosis in young cattle provides calves with high resistance to the tuberculosis pathogen agent both in permanently disadvantaged farms and in those being focuses of acute disease. The method permits to create droves of sane heifers from the animals of one's own farm in order to replace livestock having problems. Moreover, the use of this method solves the problem of further diagnostics of this disease in immunized animals.
