The use of salts of alkenylsuccinic acid semi-amides with imids of the formula (I), whereof substituents have their meanings stated in the description, as auxiliary agents for metal treatment and the auxiliary agents, especially as anticorrosion agents and emulsifiers, in water- and/or oil-containing formulations or in liquids for treating metals. There are further disclosed auxiliary agents containing said compositions.
