A through-wall sleeve assembly (10) includes an elongate sleeve (15) having an axial passage, open ends and a radially constrictable frustoconical flange (16) at one of the ends. The sleeve (15) is inserted through a bore in a wall, with the flange (16) at the leading end of the sleeve (15) so that the flange (16) is constricted by the wall or by an outer tube inserted in the bore. The flange (16) returns to an expanded, relaxed condition when it projects beyond a remote surface of the wall and forms a seal (20) with the remote surface when the sleeve (15) is drawn back. An item such as a nozzle (36) hook or eye having external threads (34) is inserted in the axial passage and fixed relative to the sleeve (15).
