The invention concerns a method comprising steps which consist in: a) delivering, from the terminal to the remote site, a message indicating a traffic incident, comprising an information identifying the vehicle and/or the driver and an information locating the vehicle; b) at the remote site, receiving the signalling message and verifying same; c) in case of compliance, posting an information allocating a premium in favour of the driver responsible for the message, in particular by transmitting, from the remote site to the vehicle, a premium-allocating message and posting the premium-allocating information in a microcircuit card memory inserted in a reading unit of the vehicle onboard terminal.
