The invention concerns a synchronizer ring (20) for a gearbox synchronizer comprising a body (22) having a generally annular truncated shape, produced by forming a sheet metal blank, defining at least a truncated bearing surface (26) capable of co-operating by friction with a matching bearing surface belonging to another component, and which is axially delimited by two end edges (30, 32) and by an outer conical lateral surface (34) and by an inner conical lateral surface (36); the annular body (22) comprises a double sheet metal thickness consisting of radially external (50) and radially internal (52) concentric rings which are mutually connected by an axial end seam (54), and the outer conical surface (34) is the outer lateral surface of the external ring (50) while the inner conical surface (36) is the lateral surface of the internal ring (52). The invention also concerns two methods for making the annular truncated body in sheet metal (22) of the synchronizer ring (20).
