The method involves classifying objects as faulty or faultless and displaying the test result. A number of adjacent independent discrete display fields (22,23) are provided, which each display a test result for at least one object, and which each have at least two display types corresponding to 'faulty' and 'faultless'. Temporally sequential results are displayed on sequential display fields.
