The method involves displacing an analysis grill (GA) in the direction of the lines of the image and-or along the direction perpendicular to the lines. The grill forms coding blocks corresponding to at least one part of the image. The transform coefficients are determined for each block and the grill positions for minimum activity are found for synchronisation.
