PURPOSE: A data network interworking device providing a wireless pad function for interworking PPDN(Public Packet Data Network) in a mobile communication network and a method for data communication using the same are provided to interwork a PSTN(Public Packet Data Network) by using a CDMA mobile communication network. CONSTITUTION: A data network interworking device providing a wireless pad function for interwoking PPDN in a mobile communication network and a method for data communication using the same comprise a main processing portion(52), a line data processing portion, and an X.25 packet data processing and connecting portion. The main processing portion performs a data call process, a resource management, a statistical function, and a trouble and diagnosis function. The line data processing portion provides a guaranteeing function for data reliability, a modem call function, and an X.25 routing process function. The X.25 packet data processing and connecting portion performs an X.25 protocol process for the received data and provides a connection function of a PSTN.
