PURPOSE: A wastewater treatment equipment using electrolysis and photocatalyst is provided, which can remove toxic and non-biodegradable organic matter by converting hydroxide ion generated by electrolysis of water to hydroxy radical and can adsorb and remove heavy metal ionic components contained in wastewater by using electrodes. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises the followings: (i) a cylindrical vessel (37) that has an inlet (35) at lower side and an outlet (36) at higher side and a vertical quartz tube (32) at the center part of the cylindrical vessel (37); (ii) an electrolysis device that has an anode (34) at the inside wall of the cylinder and a cathode net (33) around the quartz tube (32); (iii) a photocatalyst layer (38) of titanium dioxide that is made by coating titanium dioxide on glass plate, glass bead or glass fiber substrate for converting to hydroxide ion that is generated by electrolysis of water to hydroxy radical to remove toxic or non-biodegradable organic matter; (iv) a UV lamp (31) inserted into the quartz tube (32) for irradiate UV light to activate the photocatalyst of photocatalyst layer (38); and (v) a quartz tube (32) for protecting the UV lamp.
