FIELD: gas-discharge lamps. SUBSTANCE: vessel has two parts of glass tube spirally twisted in opposite directions around longitudinal axis of vessel, that is, it has upward and downward sections hinged together on one end and closed on other end, and provided with electrodes. Tangent angle to center line of glass tube in relation to perpendicular line to longitudinal axis of plane first in spiral upward section of double spiral is of positive value and then in hinge it is greater, and at turning point becomes zero, drops to decreasing negative value corresponding to positive maximum; finally, it assumes negative value of upward section in downward one. Manufacturing process is given in description of invention. Gas-discharge vessel with double spirals has outer diameter not greater than three diameters of glass tube at same power connected. EFFECT: reduced size of vessel. 8 cl, 9 dwg
