HONEYCOMB SEAL FOR TURBOMACHINE RADIAL CLEARANCE

FIELD: sealing technology. SUBSTANCE: honeycomb seal includes filler fastened to base. Filler is made in form of honeycomb structure whose faces are formed by thin-walled strips which are interconnected. Flat strips intersect at right angle; they are connected by means of slots which receive continuous parts of conjugated strips of other direction. Base is made in form of thick-walled strips located in tangential direction of honeycomb seal; other thick-walled strips are transversal relative to first ones. Strips of base are received by cuts at ends of filler strips, thus tightening them together; they are fastened at ends forming rigid structure. Filler of such honeycomb seal possesses high rigidity and strength which makes it possible to make honeycomb seal in form of stack of sections. EFFECT: improved maintainability. 3 cl, 5 dwg
