The vehicle includes a warning device for alerting the driver based on operating parameters of the vehicle. The warning device can be switched on or off as desired by a manual switch. The warning gives guidance regarding the road regulations e.g. for driving on the side of the road for which the vehicle is not designed. The output of the warning may be dependent on a country code stored in a memory and entered manually or obtained from an RDS signal or navigation system. The warning may be activated when the driver operates the indicators or turns the steering wheel. The warning is audible (e.g. from voice-recorder) or visual.
