Deflashing tools (5,6) are gripped by a tool head (4) mounted on an industrial robot (3). The tool head (4) has a contour sensor (10) which determines the position and contour of the plastic component (1) relative to the head and initiates a programmed control of the tool head and deflashing tools along the contour.
