The stepless drive is designed so that with the gear unit adjustment additionally a rolling on or a contact sliding of the friction wheels (1,2) takes place in the second main plane against each other on against a intermediate body (3) running between the two wheels. The roller part is essentially larger than the slide part, and the curvature difference between the surface line of the casing (7) of the bodies rolling against each other is very small. The planes, in which the rotation axes of the friction wheels lie, their position to the gear unit housing (8) with the gear unit adjustment does not alter or only alters without significance. Also the adjustment system is independent of a rotation of the friction wheels in the first main plane.
