The adjusting elements of the local passenger train have motorized drive elements which are effective at least between the carriage body and respective functional element. The drive elements are controlled from a central control unit in such a way that the associated functional element is adjustable in different selected base positions. The respective base position of the functional elements is adjustable individually and within predetermined limits. The functional elements are constructed as a foldable seat, table, wardroom, cupboard, bicycle stand, shelves or luggage racks. An Independent claim is included for a procedure to changing the base position of functional elements in a carriage of a local passenger train in which the functional elements are centrally controlled and automatically adjusted in relation to the carriage.
