The temperature measuring method determines the actual temperature from one or more measurements of the electrical internal resistances of the actuators and/or sensors used within the automatic gearbox, which are inserted in a given formula for providing the actual temperature, expressed in terms of the measured internal resistances, the external temperature and a reference temperature. The formula is given as: t2 = (R2 - R1)/( tau + t1) + t1 (where, tau = (1/ alpha ) - 20o C; t2 = actual temperature; t1 = starting temperature; R2 = actual internal resistance; R1 = starting resistance; and alpha = average temperature coefficient).
