The adjustment mechanism uses a drive shaft (1) projecting on either side of a helical spline cooperating via a threaded ring (4) with an axially displaced slider (3), for providing a pivot movement, e.g. for a solar sail,. The slider cooperates with a worm gearing (5,6) which can be coupled to an electric motor, e.g. a miniature electric motor.
