The arrangement has a transport frame on wheels and a height adjustment arrangement for setting the mowing cut height, a functional chamber (3) for shredding mode and a further functional chamber (4) for mowing mode separated by a common drive unit (5). The reversible drive unit is mounted between the shredder and mower so that the drive shaft on one side is permanently connected to the shredder cutter disc (2) or conical cutter and has at least one idler coupling (10,12) on the other side integrated into a blade carrier (9) or similar in connection with the drive and mower blade. The idler coupling is blocked or released depending on the rotation direction and hence the mower blade driven or left stationary.
