The drilling gauge has at least one contact element (4) for surrounding at least in part the curved pipe surface so that it rests on the pipe at at least two points. A drill guide element (3) is connected to the contact element. The contact element has a pair of arms (4b) which define between them a recess for holding the curved surface. At least one of the arms is connected to a clamping element or is defined by a jaw of a clamping element. The contact element can be a flexible band or chain and is made from or coated with non-slip material.
