The clamping device (1) has a flexible clamping element around a part of the range of the drilling element or drilling strand. An end of the clamping element (3) of a clamping drive is employed in a pointed or right angle to the longitudinal axis of the drilling element or drilling strand. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) breaking device for the release or break of connection of two connected drilling elements; and (2) a connecting device for connecting two drilling elements.
