The steering device has a shock absorbing element (4) with an upper fixing point (A) and a lower fixing point connecting it to a wheel carrier, and two lower connecting rods, the front one running longitudinally at an acute angle ( alpha ) and the rear one transversely at an angle ( beta ) so that the axes of the two rods intersect at a point (F). The theoretical wheel rotation axis (AF) is behind the wheel resting point (G) in the direction of travel of the vehicle.
