In the fuel injector, for an internal combustion motor, at least one pressure medium in the high pressure channel (16) leads towards the hydraulic transmission unit (46). And at least one pressure medium in the low pressure channel (36) leads away from the hydraulic transmission unit (46). The transmission unit (46) has a pressure chamber (47) defined by two pistons (44,45) with differing pressure surfaces. The piston (45) with the smaller surface is in one piece with the closure unit (32) of the valve (26).
