The compressor which has variable displacement has a crank chamber (5) defined by a cylinder block (1) and a front housing (2) connected thereto. The cylinder block has a central bore for a drive shaft (6) and several cylinder bores (8b) defined around the central bore and opening to the crank shaft. The compressor has a rounded edge (1a) on each cylinder bore extending circumferentially around each of the cylinder bores at an axial side end of the crank chamber.
