Fuel injection control for direct fuel injection i.c. engine allows temporary interruption of fuel feed to fuel injection valve during vehicle retardation with delayed restoration of fuel feed for smooth acceleration
The fuel injection control has a combustion mode switching section for switching between fuel injection during the suction stroke and fuel injection during the compression stroke, a fuel cut-out section for interrupting the fuel feed to the fuel injection valve (5) during vehicle retardation and a delay section for delaying the restoration of the fuel feed to the fuel injection valve, e.g. for a number of timed fuel injection points, when the vehicle is re-accelerated. An Independent claim for a fuel injection control method for a direct fuel injection i.c. engine is also included.
