The mixed light waste is stirred and circulated, a mixture of matted textile and plastic being separated in semidry form from the vessel. The mixture is extracted (14) through a pipe (16). The plastic is carried over and away in the airflow, textile being entrained in a further, deflected airflow (21, 24), and allowed to fall through the pipe branch (21). An Independent claim is included for the corresponding waste treatment plant.
