An image-forming system for mammography is disclosed consisting of an X-ray photographic light-sensitive silver halide film material comprising a support and one or more hydrophilic colloid layers including on one side of the support only in at least one layer spectrally sensitised gold and sulphur, selenium or tellurium sensitised monodisperse cubic silver bromide or silver bromoiodide grains with a mean crystal diameter of between 0.1 and 0.8 mu m in an amount corresponding to at least 4 g of silver nitrate per sq.m., the amount of metallic gold, corresponding to the amount of gold compound used in the chemical ripening, relative to the amount of metallic silver, corresponding to the amount of silver halide coated being in the range of 25 to 45 ppm; in operative association with an intensifying screen comprising on a support at least one layer of a green-light emitting phoshor in a coating amount of at least 45 mg/cm2 and the phosphor to binder ratio being at least 97:3.
