The tool (100) has two arms (102,102) with jaws (103) at their ends adapted to engage with the lugs on the ends of the collar. The two arms are hinged together at the ends remote from the clamps, to form a narrow V-shape, and are urged apart by springs (57). The outer sides of the arms are toothed or notched (109,110), and may be pressed together by little toothed wheels (121) mounted in a handle with a knob (104a) at the end remote from the arms and the clamps. The handle is made of two halves screwed together and there is a hand lever (123) to work a ratchet mechanism to squeeze the two levers between the little toothed wheels.
