The machine comprises an inner wall (2) located within a housing assembly (4) within which is located a rotor assembly (6) rotating within a stator assembly (8). The stator has located upon it a series of sheet plate material (12,14). The plates are located with a set spacing between each successive plate such that a fluid passage is formed between the inner and outer sections of the rotating machine. Rotation of the rotor forces an air flux through the machine assembly.
